Building Warrant Application for New Wine Bar in Gourock
Council officers have approved a building warrant application for a planned new wine bar in the centre of Gourock.
An application by Tony Bonatti, owner of Tonino’s in Greenock’s Grey Place, for the premises at 59 Kempock Street secured planning permission from Inverclyde Council in April 2024.
A drinks licence for the new business – Vino by Tonino - was granted last November.
The local authority has now granted a building warrant to allow work to be carried out at the premises.
Mr Bonatti told the Telegraph earlier this year of his ambition to create a ‘destination’ venue to provide people with an experience they can’t have with wines bought from Amazon or the supermarket.
The Kempock Street unit was formerly occupied by Domus Interiors.
The Inverclyde licensing board approved an application in November 2024 for 'core licensing hours' of 11am to 12 midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, 11am to 1am on Thursday, and 11am to 1.30am on Friday and Saturday, for the sale of alcohol on the premises, which will have a capacity of up to 40 people.
The building warrant application was approved earlier this month.
Rebecchi Architectural was delighted to prepare and submit the application on behalf of Tony and his team, and we wish them every success with this exciting new venture
